That physical activity was good for the body it is not new. But that would make happy, in just a few it would have expected. But that’s it: exercise makes you happy.
This was revealed by a Canadian study conducted for a long period, for 15 years, during which it has been analyzed the data recorded by eight “Surveys on population health”, comparing the level of physical activity and happiness of the test’s participants. People who play sports would be happy for a period significantly longer than people who do not play sport. The study, whose results were published in the magazine “American Journal of Epidemiology”, immediately made the world Tour.
According to what emerged, it seems that physical activity would contrast brain atrophy, and thereby would induce changes very deep that would modify our mood. During physical activity, our brain produces serotonin, a neurotransmitter that some people define “the hormone of happiness”: this effect on sleep, mood and appetite.
How established, it seems that in the 85% of the cases, being physically active was associated with higher chances of being happy, while in the cases of those who did not play physical activity, the 49% were unhappy two years later, and 45% admitted to being unhappy in the four years after.
Finally, those who from having a sedentary lifestyle have moved to a more active life through sport, would have experienced feelings of happiness either after two years and four years.
